The spa trail leads under Willingen's landmark, the viaduct, past the Strycksee lake to the idyllic Strycktal valley. Here, cafés and restaurants invite you to linger. Along the Itterbach stream and Stryckpark, you return to Willingen via a beautiful hiking trail.
The starting point is the Willingen town hall in Waldeck Straße. Follow the road in the direction of Stryck/Usseln for around 100 m and turn right into Stryckweg at the Hotel Waldecker Hof. Cross under the viaduct and continue straight ahead at the next junction (slightly offset). Follow Stryckweg and turn right into the street "Am Dicken Stein" about 100 m after the spa pavilion. This road leads steadily uphill until you reach the first houses in Stryck. Continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads, Mühlenkopfstraße. Turn left down the road and at the bottom turn left onto the hiking trail towards Willingen. The path leads approx. 2 km along the Itterbach stream through the Stryckpark to the viaduct, then onto the Stryckweg and back to the town hall.
We recommend sturdy shoes, clothing suitable for the weather, rucksack provisions and sufficient liquids (water, tea).
Take a short detour to the world's largest ski jump, the Mühlenkopfschanze, which is just a few minutes' walk from Kurweg K1.
