Düdinghausen church square
Düdinghausen church square
The hike starts from the church square in Düdinghausen, leads along the church via a staircase to the road "Am Riepen". Turn right here, cross the country road and follow the small prehistoric animal (geological circular route). The small path now leads over the Riepenbach, where gold flakes have been found, along the memorial plaque and up to the Kreuzberg. The historic Way of the Cross from 1859 accompanies the hiker to the Kreuzberg Chapel. A magnificent panoramic view rewards our efforts. A bench invites you to take a break and the panorama boards provide information about the landscape. The Kreuzberg Chapel is always open. From here, the path leads behind the chapel through the forest to the parking lot. We continue along the geological circular trail to the right at the edge of the forest and continue straight downhill. At the bottom, at the Vitsenböhl quarry with its geological information board, we now follow the Düdinghausen circular trail (D) westwards and cross the road. Walk along the paved path (D) until you reach the "Freistuhl" soul place. The feelings of peace and justice are almost tangible. Here you can linger and come to rest. Freshly refreshed, turn north and walk back to Düdinghausen.
The Drechselstube and the Heimathaus are open on Thursdays (April to October 15-17.00).
