"Silbach - Green village in the valley of the nameless" is the motto of this enchanting little village, from which you can only ever hike uphill. An experience of nature in healthy forest air and in a climatic environment. Our eastern hike is an adventure experience for young and old, especially in the area damaged by Kyrill. After all, this plateau forms the largest contiguous Kyrill area in Winterberg. The hike is characterized by wonderful views. We also experience mining areas where slate was mined above ground and the old "Zwölf Apostel" ore mine, which was mentioned in documents as early as 1544. On the westward hike, we relax in deep forests, green meadows and on plateaus with magnificent views. At the end of the hike, we treat ourselves to a refreshing dip in the water treading pool at the edge of the forest.

1st part (eastwards): From the signpost tree/hiking board in the center of Silbach eastwards with marking X2 and crossing L740 steeply up Silberberg and along the slate dump (formerly slate mining) past the old ore mine. After the end of the forest, take the meadow path and cross the Kyrill area to "St. Blasius" (wayside shrine and refuge). With Sb3 and rhombus, first return to the path on which we came and immediately continue to the left across the Kyrill plateau to the gravel path, which we follow uphill for a few meters. At the edge of the forest, turn right through a hollow path and then over a meadow path to the crossroads, which we follow to the left with rhombus and Sb3 to the "Nordhelle" star trail. Here continue straight ahead with Sb to Nordhelle-Silberberg and later right downhill towards Silberberg. Rest on a bench on the right with a view of Siedlinghausen. At the crossroads through mixed forest downhill to the right. First mining holes for ore! Continue downhill and straight ahead at the WK to the Fuchshohl refuge. Now straight ahead in the forest uphill (views!), via Himmelswiese downhill to the right to Kreuzberg. Then steeply downhill via the Way of the Cross with Stations of the Cross (1874). (Beware of slipping!) We now reach the Way of the Cross Chapel (1924). Steeply downhill, past the cemetery, we reach the L740, cross it and walk through an archway over a bridge and to the right past the community hall parallel to the "Namenlose" stream. Turn right over a road bridge and immediately left again, down the steps again parallel to the stream through a park back to the starting point of our hike.2nd part (westwards): From the above starting point, we start westwards with the X2 markings uphill via Burgstr. and immediately after the underpass with Sb4 and Sb via Hillebrandweg towards the old sports field/fish ponds to the Renautal junction and further uphill with Sb to the market squares. Here at the crossroads, turn right with Sb to the viewpoint "Hochspannungsleitung" in Hagen. We reach the "Im Hagen" refuge and continue along the Hillkopf with wonderful views of Silbach to the Ennert. From here via the Panoramaweg and at the WK (from here straight ahead a detour (50 m) to a beautiful water treading pool) sharply left downhill, back to Silbach to our starting point.Trail scouts: Elke and Helmut Otto© Hiking magazine
