Hildfeld, village fountain
Hildfeld, village fountain
A short hike past the Hildfeld Way of the Cross to the Schweimecke lake. We return on the other side of the valley to the serviced Clemensberghütte.
This path is suitable for baby carriages.
From the village fountain, we walk along the Am Ufer road to the fire station. Here we turn left and follow a narrow path past the Germania spring into the Schweimecke valley. The Hildfeld Way of the Cross turns right uphill, but we stay in the valley and soon reach the small Schweimecke lake with a refuge. The hiking trail slowly ascends and at the end of the valley at the top, we switch to the other side of the valley in a curve. It now goes downhill to the Jägerkreuz. We continue past the "Im Grund" leisure facility to the nearby Clemensberghütte mountain hut. Only about 500 m separate us from the starting point at the village fountain.
The path is cleared in winter and can therefore be used as a winter hiking trail.
You can reach Hildfeld with the S30/S40 bus lines.
