Water, hiking, well-being, on the Kneipp hiking trail this is given with the natural treading points. Simply emulate the priest Sebastian Kneipp and enjoy not only "treading water" in the most beautiful natural surroundings, but also the Kneipp elements of "medicinal herbs, exercise and balance".

Olsberg KneippWanderWeg - Hiking, water, well-being
In the Kneipp spa town of Olsberg in the Sauerland, health is a top priority. On the 2nd stage of the Kneipp Trail, a"Wanderbares Deutschland" quality trail, you will also find a natural treading area.
The health teachings of the priest Sebastian Kneipp are based on the pillars of exercise, balance, nutrition, water and medicinal herbs. All of these pillars can be found on this stage of the Kneipp hiking trail. In addition, culture is not neglected on this stage of the trail. Schellenstein Castle can be visited from the outside. Schloss Gevelinghausen with its beautifully maintained grounds is also worth a visit. The Gevelinghausen mill right on the edge of the trail can be visited by prior arrangement.
So culture and health fans will find many great stops on this stage.
The starting point for this stage of the Kneipp Trail is Olsberg Touristik, Ruhrstrasse 32.There are plenty of free parking spaces available there. Here you are also directly at the entrance to the Kneipp Adventure Park Olsberg. Now walk along the Ruhr (in the direction of flow) towards Bigge. Here you can follow the newly established Kneipp Active Trail (the blue watering can) until you reach the Ruhrauen. The route now takes you through the renaturalized Ruhrauen, past Schellenstein Castle (view of the castle from the rear). At the large traffic circle, cross over onto the Olsberg Kneipp Trail. Well marked with the K. After crossing the traffic circle, we follow the path marked with the K uphill to the Losenberg, where we enjoy the beautiful views.Along the Losenberg we come to the small village of Gevelinghausen with its castle, which is well worth seeing. We can visit the small local history museum in the "Gevelinghausener Mühle" mill along the way by prior arrangement. The village offers a variety of places to stop for refreshments, and we also have the option of taking the 349 or 350 bus back to Olsberg. The hike continues into the Elpe valley, directly along the small stream to the treading area on the Elpe, where we can refresh our feet according to Pastor Kneipp. This stage now continues along the Kneipp trail towards Wiggeringhausen. There we have to cross the busy road to Fort Fun and can walk uphill to the Scheltenberg past the horse stable opposite. The picturesque little village of Helmeringhausen can be reached via a 2 km detour and is well worth a visit. We now walk back towards Biggen along the hiking trail marked as a diamond. We soon reach the center of Olsberg along the cemetery in the direction of the reservoir.
